This is an interesting take on the history of an underground bunker, about the people who have survived underground for so long that a civilization has arisen within, with legends, myths, beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies that are rooted in events that have been forgotten, and a status quo of the structure has been established socially. A power structure is created, creating a stratified population, both figuratively and literally, from top to bottom of the silo.
A good performance by Oyelowo, with familiar faces like Rashida Jones and Will Patton
That’s the premise, and while it’s not entirely original (think Snowpiercer, Dark City, etc.), there’s enough newness here that it feels well executed for a TV series. (But as you can see from the show’s poster, these are guest stars who will be replaced by the regular cast, with Rebecca Ferguson in the lead role.) The show looks pretty decent, with good production values.
The fancy sets and cool CGI create a believable atmosphere
While a suspicious person will quickly spot the obvious conspiracy theories, the mysteries uncovered have me watching the movie on the edge of my seat.
